In augustus 2012 waren de Rolling Stones bij elkaar in Parijs om nieuw materiaal op te nemen, ter viering van hun 50-jarig jublieum! Naast een nieuw album werd ook een tour aangekondigd, waarbij er twee shows in New York en twee shows in London worden gedaan. Doom And Gloom verscheen op 11 oktober als leadsingle van het nieuw te verschijnen album. De riff waarmee het nummer ingezet wordt is van Mick Jagger.
