Deze single komt als eerste van het debuutalbum Pump Up The Jam: The Album uit 1989. Bijna wereldwijd werd het een nummer 1-hit en het was het eerste House/New Beat-nummer. Er zijn ruim 3,5 miljoen singles zijn van verkocht.
De single werd in eerste instantie op Jo Bogaert’s label Sound 89 uitgebracht door de groep The Pro 24’s, onder de titel Technotronic. Deze versie heeft alleen samples van Eddie Murphy in plaats van zang. De single krijgt het stempel een jarennegentigklassieker te zijn, terwijl het uit de jaren 80 komt.
