In juni van 2013 beginnen Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V en Jungkook hun samenwerking BTS, een afkorting van Beyond The Scene. 2 Cool 4 Skool is de eerste single die ze uitbrengen. Ondertussen groeit het zevental uit tot een internationaal succes voor de K-Pop. In 2016 is Wings hun tweede studioalbum en daarmee weten ze in de Verenigde Staten de 26e plaats van de albumlijst te bereiken.

In 2017 weten ze met DNA (#67) voor het eerst ook een plek in de Amerikaanse singlelijst te scoren. De opvolger, Mic Drop, komt zelfs tot nummer 28 en wordt met goud onderscheiden, wat geen enkele groep uit Zuid-Korea ooit eerder had weten te presteren.

In 2018 komt het album Love Yourself: Tear van niets op 1 in de Amerikaanse albumlijst. In augustus gaan ze ook de wereld over met de Love Yourself-tour die ze op 13 oktober naar een uitverkochte Ziggo Dome brengt. Met Steve Aoki brengen ze later die maand met Waste It On Me voor het eerst een volledig Engelstalige track uit.

In april 2019 verschijnt de EP Map Of The Soul : Persona met daarop ook een samenwerking met Halsey, Boy With Luv. Op 21 februari 2020 verscheen hun album Map of the Soul: 7 uit. Dat zorgde voor meer dan 4 miljoen vooruitbestellingen. Ze traden in 2020 als eerste Zuid-Koreaanse artiest op bij de Grammy Awards. Als Dynamite in augustus 2020 verschijnt verbreekt de clip met 101,1 miljoen views in 24 uur tijd het record dat op naam stond van Blackpink dat in juni in de eerste 24 uur op 86,3 miljoen kwam.
Eind mei 2021 droppen ze de track Butter. In juli 2021 brengen zij de track Permission To Dance uit. Niemand minder dan Ed Sheeran heeft meegeschreven aan dit nummer. Eind september levert hun samenwerking met Colplay de track My Universe op. De track is in het Engels en Koreaans gezongen.

In de zomer van 2022 is Yet To Come (The Most Beautiful Moment) de volgende single van de groep.
