Amanda Ava Koci is in 2017 voor het eerst te horen op Clap Your Hands, een single van dj Le Youth. Solo brengt ze via Atlantic in het voorjaar van 2018 haar eerste single My Way uit. Na Slippin’ weet ze met Sweet But Psycho internationaal succes te scoren. Die track weet in zowel Noorwegen als ook in Zweden de eerste plaats van de hitlijst te bereiken. Dat lukt haar halverwege januari 2019 ook in de Nederlandse Top 40. So Am I, haar tweede hit, bereikt de tiende plaats. Later verschijnen Torn en Salt als tracks voordat ze met Alan Walker het nummer Alone Part II aflevert. Salt wordt later alsnog een hit als in andere Europese landen juist Kings & Queens succesvol blijkt.

Heaven & Hell is het debuutalbum van Ava Max dat in september 2020 verschijnt. Van dat album wordt Who's Laughing Now de volgende single. Ook levert ze aan het einde van het jaar een bijdrage bij het kerstgevoel met de single Christmas Without You.

Ava brengt eind 2020 een oud nummer in een nieuw jasje met de single My Head & My Heart. Het nummer is op de melodie van All Around The World van ATC, maar heeft toch een eigen beat en tekst.
Met de single Everytime I Cry brengt Ava in juni haar eerste single van 2021 uit. De single The Motto is het resultaat van haar samenwerking met Tiësto. Met dat nummer weet ze door te dringen tot de 100 grootste hits die ooit in de Top 40 stonden. Dat presteerde ze eerder ook al met Sweet But Psycho. Eind april 2022 is Maybe You're The Problem haar volgende single. Tegen en het einde van de zomer komt ze met de single Million Dollar Baby. In november brengt ze de single Weapons uit. De single zal naar verwachting op haar album Diamonds & Dancefloors dat in 2023 zal verschijnen staan.
