Anton Zaslavski begint zijn muzikale loopbaan in 2002 in de metalgroep Dioramic. De electronische muziek blijft hem echter prikkelen en in 2009 besluit hij het roer faliekant om te gooien. Na verschillende producties, onder meer voor Skrillex, Fatboy Slim en The Black Eyed Peas komt zijn grote doorbraak als zijn remixen voor Lady Gaga het tot het album Born This Way schoppen. Ook deed hij productiewerk voor Eva Simons en Justin Bieber.

Eind 2012 verschijnt zijn debuutalbum, Clarity. Van het album bereiken drie singles de tipparade; Spectrum, Clarity en Stay The Night. Stay The Night, wat hij samen met Hayley Williams van Paramore opnam, wordt in januari van 2014 door 538 uitgeroepen tot Dance Smash. Later dat jaar levert hij een bijdrage aan Break Free van Ariana Grande.

In 2015 maakt hij samen met Selena Gomez de track I Want You To Know, afkomstig van zijn tweede album True Colors. Daarmee scoort de Duitser zijn tweede Top 40-hit. In juni komt de samenwerking met Jon Bellion, Beautiful Now, ook in de Tipparade en wordt eveneens Dance Smash. Met Aloe Blacc levert hij in het voorjaar van 2016 een nieuwe versie van Candyman af, dat Sammy Davis Jr. origineel in 1971 op plaat zette.

Dat Zedd overtuigd is van het succes van samenwerkingen blijkt als hij in februari 2017 Stay uitbrengt, een samenwerking met Alessia Cara. Later dat jaar werkt hij op de trak Get Low ook samen met Liam Payne. Begin 2018 maakt hij met Grey en Maren Morris de track The Middle die op nummer 2 komt en uit weet te groeien tot zijn grootste hit in ons land. In de reeks samenwerkingen volgen later dat jaar Happy Now (met Elley Duhé) en Lost In Japan (met Shawn Mendes).

In februari 2019 verschijnt er een samenwerking met Katy Perry, 365 waarna in oktober Good Thing een samenwerking met Kehlani is. Ruim een jaar later strikt hij ook Jasmine Thompson voor een track, Funny, voordat hij in oktober met Griff het nummer Inside Out maakt.
