Jonas Blue is afkomstig uit Londen en haalt zijn muzikale aanknopingspunten uit een combinatie van pop en dance. Als inspiratiebronnen noemt hij Felix Jaehn, Lost Frequencies en Kygo en de klanken van de tropical house die ze produceren.
Met Fast Car (origineel een nummer 1-hit van Tracy Chapman uit 1988) blaast hij één dan de favoriete nummers van zijn moeder nieuw leven in. Het levert hem, en Dakota die de vocalen verzorgde, begin 2016 zijn eerste Top 40-hit op. Fast Car staat totaal 24 weken in de Top 40 en bereikt de derde plaats. Perfect Strangers, met daarop de stem van JP. Cooper, komt later dat jaar zelfs nog een plekje hoger. In oktober verschijnt By Your Side, waarop de Londense zangeres Raye voor de vocalen zorgt.
In 2017 werkt Jonas Blue samen met de Australische zanger William Singe op de track Mama. Dat wordt zijn eerste nummer 1-hit in de Top 40 en ook zijn grootste succes in ons land. In het najaar blijft We Could Go Back steken in de Tipparade.
Begin 2018 neemt hij Hearts Ain't Gonna Lie, origineel van de Britse zangeres Arlissa, onder handen. In mei is Rise, de track met het Amerikaanse rapduo Jack & Jack, de volgende track van de dj. Rise wordt zijn vierde top 3-hit in ons land. In oktober verschijnt Polaroid, een samenwerking met Liam Payne en Lennon Stella. Ondertussen brengt hij met Blue ook zijn debuutalbum uit.
In 2019 laat hij dat album al weer achter zich als in het voorjaar What I Like About You verschijnt dat niet veel later op nummer 25 weet te komen. Eind mei verschijnt er via Ritual een samenwerking met Tiësto en Rita Ora. Met de Britse Hrvy dropt Jonas Blue in de zomer de track Younger.
