The Leader is een cover van het door Greyhound uitgevoerde Follow The Leader, dat in 1971 werd uitgebracht.
In dit lied lijkt in het laatste gedeelte, waar je 'ksjjj'-geluiden hoort, gebruikgemaakt te zijn van bekkens o.i.d. tijdens de 'phasing'-techniek, want men wilde net zo'n geluid als in Simon & Garfunkels Bridge Over Troubled Water, dat zo magistraal eindigt, echter men kreeg dit niet voor elkaar. Daarop kwam Robert Long met het voorstel om een beetje veel galm op de microfoon te zetten, vervolgens bij de microfoon te gaan staan en gewoon 'ksjjj, ksjjj, ksjjj' te zingen. Zo gezegd, zo gedaan.
