Queen

Radio Ga Ga bezorgde Queen na anderhalf jaar weer een enorme hit. In Engeland bereikte de single de 2de plaats en ook in de Verenigde Staten werd gescoord met een 14de plaats als resultaat. In ons land deed Radio Ga Ga het nog het best want het werd Queen's 5de nummer 1-hit. De single stond 1 week op nummer 1 in de Top 40. Dit alles was ook goed voor het album The Works wat eveneens de eerste plaats bereikte in de albumlijst.

Wist je dat? Na een niet al te beste periode kwam de band in 1984 keihard terug met een nieuw album, The Works, en een nieuwe single Radio Ga Ga. In de Top 40 werd het Queens 5de nummer 1-hit en een paar maanden later zou er met I Want To Break Free nog een nummer 1-hit worden gescoord. Ook het album The Works kwam op nummer 1. Roger Taylor schreef Radio Ga Ga en de inspiratie kwam van zijn zoon Rufus. De kleine luisterde naar de radio en riep toen iets als radio caca. Zo kwam de hitsingle tot stand. Ook de videoclip is er één van klasse. De bandleden werden verwerkt in beelden van een oude jaren 20 film Metropolis. Ook ging de band weer toernee. Kortom, de fans hoefden Queen in 1984 niet te missen.
