Breakthru was de 2de single van het album The Miracle. De opvolger van I Want It All wist ook de de top 10 te bereiken met een 4de plaats als resultaat. In Engeland werd de 7de plaats behaald. Dit hield het album The Miracle lange tijd in de hoogste regionen van de album lijst waar het ook de 1ste plaats haalde.

Wist je dat? In 1989 was de band terug na een pauze van 3 jaar met hun 14de studio album The Miracle. Een goed jaar voor Queen want maar liefst 5 singles werden uitgebracht en alle 5 wisten ze de top 20 te halen. Breakthru stond net als I Want It All 10 weken in de Top 40. Voor de videoclip werden kosten noch moeite gespaard om de fan iets fantastisch voor te schotelen. Er werd een heuse locomotief omgebouwd tot The Miracle Express. De bandleden lieten zich echter wel flink verzekeren aangezien de trein met een flinke vaart over de Engelse Nene Valley railway raasde.We zien naast de 4 bandleden ook de toenmalige vriendin van drummer Roger Taylor en het plezier die de leden hebben spat duidelijk van het scherm af.
