De Britse Adele Emily Sandé is voor het eerst te horen op het nummer Diamond Rings van Chipmunk. In de zomer van 2009 komt het nummer van niets op de zesde plaats van de Britse hitlijst terecht. Een jaar later tekent de zangeres een contract met Virgin, waar in 2011 haar eerste eigen single Heaven verschijnt. De single bereikt de tweede plaats en staat in oktober ook bij ons in de Tipparade.

Our Version Of Events is haar debuutalbum dat in februari van 2012 verschijnt. Daarop staat ook Next To Me, waar ze diezelfde maand debuteert in de Top 40. Het wordt haar grootste hit in ons land en bereikt de derde plaats. Beneath Your Beautiful is de samenwerking met Labrinth die later in 2012 de opvolger is. In 2013 komt Read All About It tot de vierde plaats in de Top 40 en later dat jaar verschijnt ook Lifted (samen met Naughty Boy). De zangeres is ondertussen bezig met haar tweede studioalbum dat in 2015 moet verschijnen.

Ook is Sandé te horen op het nieuwe album van David Guetta, Listen. De track What I Did For Love wordt in 2015 als single uitgebracht en levert de zangeres haar vierde Alarmschijf en vijfde Top 40-hit.

Op 11 november 2016 verschijnt haar tweede studioalbum, Long Live The Angels. Als voorloper verschijnt de single Hurts.

Beneath Your Beautiful is een samenwerking tussen de twee opkomende Britse artiesten Labrinth en Emeli Sandé. Labrinth scoorde eerder in 2012 al de hit Earthquake en Emeli Sandé scoorde eerder al een monsterhit met Next To Me. In de UK kwam het nummer binnen op 1 met een verkoop van 108.000 exemplaren.
