Fergie Duhamel begint in 1991 het grieoje Wild Orchid op met wie ze twee albums maakt. Als achtergrondzangeres ontmoet ze Will.I.Am die haar vraagt om één van de leden van The Black Eyed Peas te worden. In de periode tussen 2003 en 2011 scoort ze 15 hits, waarvan er drie op nummer 1 komen.

In 2006 begint ze ondertussen ook een solo-carriere en brengt ze met The Dutchess haar debuutalbum uit. London Bridge is later dat jaar haar eerste hit in de Top 40. Een jaar later scoort ze met Big Girls Don’t Cry (#3) haar grootste hit in ons land. In 2010 werkt ze samen met David Guetta, Chris Willis en LMFAO op Gettin’ Over You, dat op nummer 21 komt.

In de jaren daarna wordt steeds gesproken over een nieuw album. In het najaar van 2014 verschijnt de single L.A. Love (La La), maar het album verschijnt pas twee jaar later... Double Dutchess. Op 1 juli 2016 verschijnt als voorloper de single M.I.L.F. $
