De Canadese band bestaat uit Joel Stouffer, Dan Kurtz en zangeres Martina Sorbara. In 2010 scoren ze, samen met Don Diablo op Animale een clubhit. Later dat jaar scoren ze met Martin Solveig hun eerste hit in ons land met de ex-Dance Smash Hello. Die track staat vier weken op de eerste plaats. In 2011 weet Big In Japan, opnieuw samen met Martin Solveig, de Tipparade te bereiken.

In 2014 is Dragonette terug in de samenwerking met de Nederlandse dj- en producer Mike Mago op Outlines. Het nummer wordt eind augustus door Radio 538 uitgeroepen tot Dance Smash en komt later in de Top 40.
Met Royal Blues leveren zij in 2016 hun vierde album af. Ze doen het wat rustiger aan en brengen af en toe muziek uit. Zo droppen zij onder andere in 2018 de track Faith In Love en in 2020 We're All In This Together.
In 2021 slaan ze de handen ineen met Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Cat Dealers en Bruno Martini. Samen brengen zij de track Summer Thing.
