Dr. Alban (echte naam: Alban Nwapa) geldt als Zweedse artiest maar werd geboren in het Nigeriaanse Enugu. Hij komt op zijn 23e in Zweden terecht voor een studie tandheelkunde.

Alban studeert in 1990 af en in dat jaar verschijnt ook zijn eerste single Hello Africa. Zijn grootste succes is It's My Life, dat in 1992 zeven weken bovenaan de Top 40 prijkt.
