Jasmine van den Bogaerde is, hoewel haar naam wellicht anders doet vermoeden, Britse. De zangeres wint op haar twaalfde de talentenjacht ‘Open Mic’, waarmee ze een platencontract krijgt.

Als ze vijftien jaar oud is maakt ze een cover van Skinny Love, een eerdere single van Bon Iver. In de laatste weken van 2011 staat het nummer twee weken op nummer 2. De single is afkomstig van haar debuutalbum Birdy, waarvan ook het nummer People Help The People de Top 40 weet te bereiken.

In 2013 verschijnt het album Fire Within’, waarop de zangeres eigen nummers heeft gemaakt. Na een afwezigheid van bijna anderhalf jaar is Wings haar derde hit in Nederland.

Birdy begint 2016 op de eerste dag van het jaar met de release van Keeping Your Head Up. De track verschijnt als voorloper van het album Beautiful Lies met daarop ook haar volgende single Wild Horses. In november levert ze de track Find Me af, een samenwerking met het Britse duo Sigma.
