Rebecca Marie Gomez begint haar prille muzikale loopbaan in meidenbands. In 2011 valt ze op nadat ze een aantal mixen van bekende hits op YouTube zet. Het resulteert in een platencontract bij Kemosabe, waarna ze de gelegenheid krijgt om samen te werken met verschillende acts. Zo schrijft ze mee aan Wish U Were Here (Cody Simpson). Na verloop van tijd wordt de rij van bekende namen steeds groter als ook Ke$ha, Wiz Khalifa, Cher Lloyd en Will.I.Am met haar samenwerken.

In 2014 staat ze in het voorprogramma van Katy Perry tijdens een deel van haar Amerikaanse tournee. In april verschijnt haar eerste single, Shower, die afkomstig is van haar gelijknamige debuutalbum. Aan het einde van het jaar blijft Can't Stop Dancin' steken in de Tipparade. In de zomer van 2015 horen we opnieuw van Becky G als ze samen met Yellow Claw en Cesqeaux de track Wild Mustang aflevert.

Na lange afwezigheid komen we de naam van Becky G begin 2018 weer tegen op Mad Love, een samenwerking met David Guetta en Sean Paul. Dat ze ook een aardig moppie Spaans kan zingen bewijst ze met haar samenwerking met Natti Natasha, Sin Pijama.
In 2022 brengt ze het album Esquemas uit. In maart 2023 levert haar samenwerking met Omega de single Arranca op.
