Al Martino (geboren als Alfred Cini) was een Italiaans-Amerikaanse zanger en acteur, op 7 oktober 1927 geboren in Philadelphia.

Na de Tweede Wereldoorlog wordt hij zanger en al in 1952 staat hij in een Britse hitlijst. In Nederland wordt hij kort na de oprichting van de Top 40 gesignaleerd: in 1966 staat hij 13 weken in de lijst met Spanish Eyes, dat een jaar later een re-entry beleeft en -qua puntenaantal- zijn meest succesvolle hit zou worden.

Terwijl Martino in de VS de hits aaneenrijgt, is het in Nederland pas in 1976 weer raak: Volare haalt als Alarmschijf de top 3. In 1994 komt Volare nog een keer terug in de hitlijsten, maar nu is de Tipparade het eindstation.

Martino was ook acteur en speelde bijvoorbeeld Johnny Fontane in The Godfather (1972) en The Godfather Part III (1990).

In 2009 overlijdt hij, zes dagen na zijn 82e verjaardag.
