In 2017 doet Zoe Wees mee aan de Duitse Voice Kids waar ze in de derde ronde wordt uitgeschakeld. Wel kreeg ze van Ed Sheeran een enorm compliment: “Zoe heeft een stem die absoluut naar voren komt en ze heeft een bijzondere aanwezigheid”. In het voorjaar van 2020 verschijnt Control als debuut van de in Hamburg woonachtige Zoe Wees. In het nummer schrijft ze over de epilepsie waar ze in haar jonge jeugd mee te maken heeft gehad. Het zorgde er voor dat ze zich hopeloos en buitengesloten voelde. De track wordt door Qmusic uitgeroepen tot Alarmschijf.
Wait For You is daarna een samenwerking met Tom Walker voordat er in januari 2021, met Girls Like You, weer een solotrack verschijnt. In augustus leent ze haar stem aan Love Me Now van Kygo.
