Xavier Rudd maakte van de stofzuiger van zijn moeder al snel een didgeridoo. Als kind bleek dus al dat hij een interesse had voor muziek. Hij speelde gitaar, saxofoon en clarinet in zijn kinderjaren. Als tiener begon mijn eigen band, Xavier And The Hum. Nadat hij de Canadees Marci Lutken ontmoet besluit hij met hem te trouwen en te vergezellen naar Canada.

Xavier treed tegenwoordig op als een eenmansband. Hij zit daarbij omringd door instrumenten, waarbij de drie didgeridoos de meest opvallende zijn.


Het nummer Follow The Sun is afkomstig van zijn zevende studioalbum Spirit Bird dat in 2012 verscheen. De track wordt gebruikt in de commercial van Sunweb en komt in januari 2016 binnen in de Top 40. Zijn concerten in 2016 in Nijmegen, Den Haag en Amsterdam zijn in no-time uitverkocht.
