In 2010 vormen vijf schoolvrienden een band en twee jaar later is hun debuutsingle Catch Me If You Can een feit. Patrick Sheehy, Sorcha Durham, Dan Devane, Paul Flannery en Evan Hadnett weten hun succes met deopvolger zelfs nog te overteffen en komen in thuisland Ierland op nummer 12.


In 2013 maken ze met producer Tom McFall, die ook werkte voor ondermeer R.E.M. en de Editors) hun eerste EP uit, As We Fly South. Een jaar later volgt ook een tweede mini-album met Hand In Hand.


Het debuutalbum van Walking On Cars verschijnt eind januari 2016. Van dat album wordt Speeding Cars door Radio 538 uitgeroepen tot Alarmschijf met een 23e plaats als resultaat. In de zomer wordt Catch Me If You Can de opvolger.
