Sheldon David English beter bekend als Scott English, was een Amerikaanse singer/songwriter, arrangeur en producer. Hij is vooral bekend als de mede componist van " Brandy " dat hij samen met Richard Kerr schreef. Zijn versie kwam in 1971 niet verder dan de Tipparade.
Het nummer werd in 1974 voor Barry Manilow veranderd in "Mandy". In Nederland bereikte het nummer niet de hitparade maar in Amerika was het voor Barry Manilow een nummer 1 hit. en in bereikte nummer 12 in de UK Singles Chart.

In 1998 was Scott co-schrijver met Simon Stirling en Phil Mankiza voor de Britse inzending voor het Eurovisie Songfestival ,
"Where are you? " van Imaani. Dat nummer bereikte in de Top 40 de 8e plaats.
