In 2007 starten Manuel Reuter en Yann Peifer, die op dat moment succesvol zijn met Cascada, het project R.I.O. Als vaste zanger werken ze samen met Neal Antone (Tony T).
R.I.O. scoort verschillende hits, waaronder twee noteringen in de top 10. In december van 2007 is De Janeiro de eerste hit in de Top 40 en bereikt de negende plaats. Ook de derde single van R.I.O., When The Sun Comes Down, bereikt die positie.
In 2011 staat Turn This Club Around in de Top 40, op dat moment hun negende notering in de lijst en de eerste samenwerking met U-Jean. Die samenwerking komt in 2013 opnieuw tot stand als Komodo (Hard Nights) verschijnt.
