Michael David Rosenberg werkt samen met Andrew Philips vier jaar lang aan het debuutalbum Wicked Man dat in 2007 verschijnt. Rosenberg kon er maar weinig succes mee boeken en na een tijdje zijn liedjes op straat te hebben gezongen werkt hij in Australië aan het album Flight Of The Crow.

Ed Sheeran is onder de indruk van de zanger en vraagt hem om zijn voorprogramma te verzorgen. In maart van 2012 staat hij voor het eerst in Nederland op een podium.
Van het album All The Little Lights, dat een paar maanden later verschijnt, wordt Let Her Go een zeer succesvol hitparade-debuut. De single staat tien weken in de top-3 van de Top 40, waarvan twee weken op nummer 1.

In 2013 doet Passenger Nederland opnieuw aan, maar nu als hoofdact met uitverkochte concerten in Amsterdam en Utrecht en ook is de zanger te zien op Pinkpop. Zowel Holes als The Wrong Direction bereiken de Top 40, maar blijven ver verwijderd van het succes van Let Her Go.

In juni van 2014 verschijnt het nieuwe album, Whispers. Van dat album verschijnen ook Hearts On Fire, Scare Away The Dark en Golden Leaves als single.

Het zevende studioalbum van Passenger, Young As The Morning, verschijnt op 23 september 2016. Daarvan verschijnen voor de release de singles Somebody's Love en Anywhere.
