Kesha Rose Sebert was voor het eerst te zien in de clip van Katy Perry bij I Kissed A Girl. Rapper Flo Rida was al snel onder de indruk en vroeg haar het refrein van Right Round in te zingen. De single leverde haar in 2009 direct een nummer-1-hit op in de Verenigde Staten. De single kwam in de Top 40 op de derde plaats. Ke$ha levert daarna met Aminal haar debuutalbum af, waarvan Tik Tok de tweede plaats in de Top 40 bereikt.

Ruim vier jaar en drie (meer) bescheiden Top 40-hits later scoort Ke$ha voor het eerst een nummer 1-hit als Timber (samen met Pitbull) in 2014 de lijst aanvoert.

Na een jarenlange juridische strijd met haar producer, Dr. Luke, keert Kesha in 2017 terug met haar derde album (Rainbow) en de single Playing.

In 2020 brengt ze het album The High Road uit wat goede kritieken mocht ontvangen. In 2021 maakt ze met de Nederlandse dj en producer Sam Feldt de track Stronger.
