De Hermes House Band is de in 1982 opgerichte huisband van studentensociëteit Hermes van het Rotterdamsch Studenten Corps. De bezetting wisselt in de loop der jaren voortdurend waardoor naar eigen zeggen "altijd een jonge en energieke lichting op het podium staat". De band speelt vooral dansbare klassiekers die goed meegezongen kunnen worden. Bekende oud-gezichten zijn actrice/presentatrice Judith Ansems en zanger Jaap Reesema.

In 1994 krijgt de Hermes House Band landelijke bekendheid als een cover van Gloria Gaynors I Will Survive (#4 in 1979) een grote hit wordt. Eind 1994/begin 1995 staat de versie van de Rotterdamse studenten drie weken op de eerste plaats. In 1995 volgt nog een tweede, bescheiden hit: Country Roads (nu als HHB International) bereikt de 27e plaats.

I Will Survive (La La La) is verschillende malen een grote hit geweest in Frankrijk. Het nationale voetbalelftal adopteerde het Rotterdamse nummer in 1998, ten tijde van het succesvolle WK in eigen land, als lijflied. Ook in 2018, toen de tweede wereldtitel werd behaald, werd het veel gedraaid. Tijdens de huldiging werd het op het Élysée gezongen door de spelers en president Macron. Niet veel later stond de Hermes House Band op 1 in de Franse Top 100.
