George Barnett laat met het nummer Angry Hill, dat hij in 2011 op YouTube plaatst, horen over welke kwaliteiten hij beschikt. In de jaren daarna gaat hij met zijn gitaar op stap om inspiratie op te doen in Europa. Ondertussen staat hij ook in het voorprogramma van Tom Odell en Lianne La Havas.
Eind 2013 verschijnt de EP Did You Hear The Rain. Op het mini-album is Budapest de eerste track. De single komt halverwege 2014 binnen in de Top 40.
De agenda van de Britse zanger loopt snel vol. Eerst speelt hij in Groot-Brittannië en Ierland om later ook in Europa optredens te verzorgen. Begin april speelt hij in Nijmegen, Rotterdam en Amsterdam en laterstaat hij ook op het Best Kept Secrets festival.
Van zijn debuutalbum Wanted On Voyage verschijnen ook Cassy O, Blame It On Me en Barcelona als single.
In 2017 brengt hij met Don't Matter Now weer een nieuwe track. Die track krijgt later een plek op zijn tweede studioalbum Staying At Tamara's die in maart van 2018 verschijnt. Op dat album staan ook de nummer 1-hit Shotgun en de singles Hold My Girl en Pretty Shining People.
