De Brit Daniel Stein is eind jaren negentig één van de vier leden van de band Bad Company. In 1998 verschijnt het nummer The Nine, wat tot in lengte van dagen wordt geroemd als één van de beste drum-n-bass nummers ooit gemaakt.

In 2006 verschijnt zijn eerste solo-album, Escape From Planet Monday. Daarna verschijnen ook de albums Kryptonite (2009) en Nextlevelism (2011). Samen met Rita Ora maakt hij Hot Right Now, waarmee hij zijn debuut in de Top 40 weet te maken. In het voorjaar van 2012 staat die track op de elfde plaats in de Top 40.

In 2013 maakt hij, samen met Ellie Goulding, de track Flashlight dat op het album Halcyon Days belandde. In het najaar van 2014 wordt het de nieuwe single van de Britse producer.

In februari 2015 komt Gravity (samen met Ella Eyre) binnen op de vierde plaats van de Britse hitlijst. De track wordt door Radio 538 uitgeroepen tot Dance Smash.

Met zijn landgenoten Sigala en Imani werkt hij aan de track Say You Do, dat in februari 2016 verschijnt.
