De Ierse singer-songwriter Dermot Kennedy haalt inspiratie uit extremen. Dermot vergelijkt hiphop met poëzie vanwege de eerlijkheid van kwalitatieve rappers. Nadat hij Glen Hansard leerde kennen dook hij met hem in de studio. Niet veel later mocht hij met hem op het podium verschijnen om een optreden van tien minuten te maken. Na de single After Rain verschijnt in 2017 de EP Doves & Ravens in 2017 en inmiddels weet hij zijn optredens in Ierland en Engeland uit te verkopen.
Power Over Me is de eerste single van zijn titelloze debuutalbum dat in 2019 verschijnt. Op 22 mei geeft hij een concert in TivoliVredenburg, Utrecht.
