Danny Polfliet vormt met Till Dawn in 1999 zijn eerste band en een jaar later wordt die groep uitgeroepen als Zeeuwse Belofte. In 2003 brengt Danny Vera zijn eerste soloalbum uit, For The Light In Your Eyes. Daarna volgden onder meer de albums Ordinary Man en Pink Flamingo.

In 2011 komt zijn nummer Tomorrow Will be Mine in de Tipparade terecht nadat het wordt gebruikt als openingsnummer bij Tour Du Jour, het programma rond de Tour De France dat op RTL7 wordt uitgezonden en waar Vera de muzikale omlijsting verzorgt.

Op 15 maart 2019 verschijnt het nummer Roller Coaster als single nadat het een maand eerder al op het album Pressure Makes Diamonds 2 – Pompadour Hippie was verschenen. Waar het nummer in eerste instantie de grootste Top 40-hit ooit in de onderste helft van de Top 40 wordt verdwijnt die prestatie later ook weer uit de recordboeken als Roller Coaster in de 29e week Top 40 alsnog in de bovenste helft van de lijst weet te komen. Daarna verschijnen de singles Oblivious Desire, Hold On To Let Go en een nieuwe uitvoering van Pressure Makes Diamonds.

In het najaar van 2020 gooit hij het juk van de man van de ballads van zich af met de release van het nummer The Weight.

In 2021 schrijft hij een single Voor Altijd die wordt gezongen door niemand minder dan André van Duin. Met de track Tuesday laat hij in maart 2021 zijn zangkwaliteiten weer horen.
