Banana is eigenlijk een oud Jamaicaans volksliedje en werd in 1956 bekend toen de Jamaicaans-Amerikaanse zanger Harry Belafonte het uitbracht als Day O (The Banana Boat Song). In Nederland is ook André van Duins versie, Het Bananenlied, bekend.
Deze nieuwe bewerking komt opnieuw uit Jamaica, waarbij Conkarah hulp krijgt van niemand minder dan Shaggy. De hitversie is de zogenaamde Minisiren Remix van DJ Fle.
