Meervoudig Grammy-winnares Colbie Caillat krijgt onverwacht succes als haar nummer, Bubbly, op MySpace bijna 25 miljoen keer wordt aangeklikt. In de zomer van 2007 verschijnt haar debuutalbum, Coco. Daarvan komt Bubbly in december uit en komt ze tot de vijfde plaats in de Top 40. Bubbly is nog steeds de grootste hit die de Amerikaanse in ons land wist te scoren. Ruim een jaar later staat ze, samen met Jason Mraz, met Lucky opnieuw in de top 10. Daarna blijven de successen voor Caillat uit.

In juni van 2014 verschijnt een EP van de zangeres, Gypsy Heart Side A, vooruitlopend op de release van haar vierde studioalbum. Try is het eerste nummer dat daarvan nadrukkelijk onder de aandacht komt.
