Ook Christina Aguilera zet, net als Justin Timberlake en Britney Spears, haar eerste muzikale stappen in de Mickey Mouse Club. Het programma stopt echter in 1994 en het lukt de zangeres niet om een platencontract binnen te slepen.

Vanwege haar stembereik mag ze, in 1998, een nummer zingen op de soundtrack van de Disney-film Mulan. Als het nummer een nominatie krijgt voor een Golden Globe breekt Aguilera alsnog door.

Van haar debuutalbum, dat eind 1999 verschijnt, wordt Genie In A Bottle een top 2-notering in de Top 40.

In 2002 verschijnt haar tweede album, Stripped, waarvan vijf singles in de Top 40 terecht komen.

Vier jaar later verschijnt Back To Basics, wat zelfs een dubbel-cd was. Van dat album is Hurt het meest succesvol met een tweede plaats.

In 2011 scoort de zangeres, samen met Maroon 5, haar eerste nummer 1-notering. Moves Like Jagger staat drie weken bovenaan de Top 40.

Na Bionic is Lotus het vijfde studioalbum van de zangeres dat eind 2012 verschijnt. Geen van de singles bereikt de Top 40.

Als Christina Aguilera in 2013 het nummer Say Something van A Great Big World hoort tijdens So You Think You Can Dance regelt ze een opname met het duo. Het resulteert halverwege februari 2014 in de 21e notering van de zangeres in de Media Markt Top 40.
