Bow Wow Wow is een Britse band die in 1980 werd opgericht door Malcolm McLaren. Hij wist de band van "Adam & The Ants" te overreden een nieuwe band te beginnen zónder Adam Ant. Er moest alleen een leadzanger(es) bij. Dat werd de toen 13-jarige Annabella Lwin(echte naam: Myant-Myant Aye Dunn-Lwin). Ze werd ontdekt terwijl ze in een wasserette stond te zingen. Later werd er nog een leadzanger toegevoegd aan het 4-tal, te weten George Alan O'Dowd. Hij verliet echter al snel weer de band en startte zelf een band genaamd Culture Club. Hij nam de zang voor zijn rekening en werd bekend als Boy George.
