Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas, beter bekend als Ashanti, is een Amerikaanse zangeres en actrice. Voordat ze zelf doorbrak als artieste danste ze in de Disneymusical Polly en in verschillende clubs van artiesten. In 2002 brak ze door in de urban muziek. In de Verenigde Staten werd ze al snel een ware sensatie mede door haar samenwerking met beroemde hip-hoppers; Ja Rule, Fat Joe en The Notorious B.I.G.

Sinds 2006 is Ashanti verloofd met rapper Nelly.

Haar grootste hit in Nederland was What’s Luv in samenwerking met Fat Joe, waarmee ze de zevende plek bereikte. Andere hits die ze scoorde waren Foolish, Happy, Rock with u and Only You.
