Als 6-jarige speelde Anne-Marie Nicholson al op West End in de musical Les Misérables. Zes jaar later stond ze naast Jessie J in de musical Whistle Down The Wind. Summer Girl was in 2013 de eerste demo die ze aanleverde en na enkele samenwerkingen trok ze de aandacht van Rudimental. Rumour Mill wordt een hitje in de Britse hitlijst met Anne-Marie als zangeres op de achtergrond.

Begin 2016 scoort ze in haar thuisland haar eerste solo-hit met Do It Right, dat later wordt overtroffen met Alarm. Die track kwam in de zomer tot de 16e plaats in het Verenigd Koninkrijk. Met Rockabye, haar samenwerking met Clean Bandit en Sean Paul, pakt ze in ons land niet alleen haar Top 40-debuut maar ook meteen een nummer 1-hit. Met haar eerste solosingle, Ciao Adios, komt ze in het voorjaar van 2017 op nummer 4. Niet veel later is ze ook te horen op Either Way, een samenwerking met Snakehips en Joey Bada$$. Heavy wordt in september haar volgende solo-single.

In februari levert Anne-Marie met Marshmello de track Friends af. Die single weet de Top 40 voor twee weken aan te voeren. In de week voor de release van haar debuutalbum, Speak Your Mind, brengt ze op 20 april haar nieuwste single uit, 2002. Aan dat nummer schreven ook Ed Sheeran en Julia Michaels mee. In juni verschijnt Let Me Live, de track van Rudimental waar Anne-Marie haar vocalen leverde. Met David Guetta scoort ze een maand later de Alarmschijf via Don't Leave Me Alone. In november verschijnt er met Perfect To Me weer een eigen track van Anne-Marie. In de zomer van 2019 is de Britse te horen op Fuck, I'm Lonely, een samenwerking met Lauv. Met Birthday dropt ze in februari van 2020 ook weer een eigen nummer. Ze begint 2021 met de release van Don't Play, een samenwerking met Digital Farm Animals en KSI.
