Alexandra Imelda Cecelia Ewan Burke wordt geboren in Londen op 25 augustus 1988. Ze begint al op jonge leeftijd met zingen en breekt in 2008 door na het winnen van de vijfde editie van de Britse versie van The X Factor.
In 2009 verschijnt haar eerste album Overcome. Voor de single Bad Boys wordt samengewerkt met Flo Rida en de productie haalt plaats 8 in de Top 40. De opvolger All Night Long haalt een paar maanden later de 24e plaats.
Burke is een dochter van Melissa Bell, die enige tijd deel uitmaakte van de groep Soul II Soul.
