Alex Vargas Blay is geboren en getogen in Denemarken en verhuisde op 17-jarige leeftijd naar Londen waar hij de band Vagabond vormde. Met de band stond hij op de grote Britse festivals, waaronder Glastonbury.
In 2010 besluit Vargas om solo verder te gaan en Vagabond te laten voor wat het is. In 2013 leent hij zijn vocalen aan Above & Beyond en is hij te horen op vijf tracks van het album We Are All We Need, dat wordt opgevolgd met zijn solotrack Till Forever Runs Out. In het najaar van 2015 verschijnt het nummer Giving Up The Ghost. Dat is ook de titel van de EP waarop het nummer Shackled Up terug is te vinden.
