Adam Mitchell Lambert eindigt in 2009 als verliezend finalist in American Idol. De zanger brengt in ons land verschillende singles uit, waaronder If I Had You (2010) en Better Than I Know Myself (2011). Toch haalt hij slechts met één nummer - Whataya Want From Me (2010, nummer 7) - de Top 40. In 2011 wordt hij gevraagd om als leadzanger voor Queen aan de slag te gaan. Met de Britse band gaat hij in 2014 en 2015 op wereldtour.
De zanger, die in 2012 zijn tweede studioalbum Trespassing uitbrengt, speelt een rol in de Amerikaanse muziek hitserie Glee, waar hij nummers van onder meer Madonna en Katy Perry nieuw leven inblaast. Samen met Nile Rodgers werkt hij mee aan het debuutalbum van Avicii op het nummer Lay Me Down.
In 2015 verschijnt het derde album van Lambert, The Original High. De eerste single, Ghost Town, groeit uit tot zijn grootste succes in ons land. In september wordt duidelijk dat Another Lonely Night zijn volgende single is.
Op 13 april 2016 begint hij het Europese gedeelte van zijn Original High Tour in Amsterdam. Een maand daarvoor verschijnt zijn nieuwste track, Welcome To My Show.
